Sumita Dahiya Journey to Independence

Sumita-Dahiya

Sumita Dahiya is a 32-year-old woman from Kirti Nagar. She lives in a joint family of five, along with her younger brother, aged ten, and three sisters. The earning member of the house at the time of starting the course was Sumita Dahiya's mother only. Seeing her mother struggle, she desired to do something to support her family financially. Dreaming of whatever funds, she always desired that her younger siblings complete their studies and make her mother reliant.

One day, Sumita Dahiya heard about Care India Welfare Trust, a society that trains women with different skills. She joins the sewing course to learn and earn. She started with hard work and faith, she learned stitching well. Now, she stitches suits and earns ₹ 500 to ₹ 2000 per day working from home.

This income has brought a transformation to her life. She can contribute to the family expenses and a helping hand with her sibling's education. Care India Welfare Trust made her believe in making this transition possible by providing her with the skills and confidence to be financially independent. Today Sumita Dahiya can be proud of her achievements and continues to strive for a better future for her family.
